Blessed
Unrest
part 1
Blessed Unrest is a short dance film inspired by the words of Martha Graham.
The idea for Blessed unrest came after reading a poem by the American modern dancer & choreographer Martha Graham. It explores the idea of the burden that all artists carry, which is that no artist is ever pleased.
Featuring a captivating performance by the dancer Stan West.
Part 1 focuses on channelling creativity through yourself as an artist.
Behind the scenes
The film was shot on a soundstage in South London in August 2020. The lighting set up for part 1 consisted of an Arri 1k rigged to the ceiling, to cast a direct light onto Stan. We used this set up with the white cove to create a distinct difference between part 1 & 2.
